Chvrches – Screen Violence Tour

It’s not a big surprise for those who know me, but for those who don’t, Chvrches is one of my favorite bands and pretty much the reason I got into concert photography.
During the height of the pandemic, the Scottish synth trio Lauren Mayberry, Martin Doherty and Iain Cook recorded their 4th studio album, and probably my favorite album (so far), Screen Violence.

The title of the album holds a few different meanings for the band. One part stems from lead singer Lauren Mayberry having to deal with the harassment and death threats from strangers online that can’t seem to deal with Lauren being vocal about causes and beliefs she and the band hold close to heart. Another reason for the title is that Screen Violence was mainly recorded over video and audio sessions between Los Angeles and Glasgow, where the band members are based.

Not too long after releasing a few singles – He said, She said, and Good Girls, Chvrches announced dates for their North American tour and a lottery for a surprise performance at Hollywood Forever Masonic Lodge the day of the album release.

After calming down about the news, a good friend/fellow Chvrches fan and I made plans to see how many of these shows we could attend. We were fortunate enough to attend the album release show, their opening tour show in Houston, Las Vegas, two San Diego shows and the final two Los Angeles shows.
Here are a few images I captured at some of the various cities.
