Daisy The Great Share New Single
Brooklyn’s Daisy the Great are back today with another preview of their forthcoming album The Rubber Teeth Talk, due out June 27 via S-Curve Records. “Bird Bones” is a heartwrenching song about a friend lost too soon, built around knotted guitars and a pummeling breakdown. For the new record, Mina Walker and Kelley Dugan worked with Grammy award-winning producer Catherine Marks (boygenius, St. Vincent, Alanis Morissette) to expand their multidimensional, genre-defying sound and deepen the intricate harmonies on their hook-filled tracks.
“Bird Bones was inspired by the loss of one of our dearest friends, Stephanie Shafir,” shares Mina. “After she passed, my room was filled with little glass dolls and clothes and drawings that she’d left for me, infused with her presence and love. Around that time, I was on a long walk next to a cemetery near my home and I saw a whole bird skeleton in the road, and it felt like another little glass doll left for me to find from Steph. I wrote this song as a comforting reminder that she will never disappear.”
Alongside the new single, Daisy the Great have announced an extensive US headline tour, kicking off this September in Boston and making their way around the country. The band will play their biggest New York show to date at Bowery Ballroom on Sept 12th. Tickets on-sale this Friday, May 30th at 10am local time HERE.
