Maddie Zahm at The Troubadour
For 24-year-old singer/songwriter Maddie Zahm, there’s nothing more powerful than writing songs that scare her. The Boise-bred artist most recently released her debut EP You Might Not Like Her, a project that intimately documents the massive upheaval she’s experienced over the last year: a life-changing journey that includes leaving the stifling church community where she long served as a worship leader, losing weight, moving to Los Angeles and coming out as queer.
Maddie recently shared her latest single “STEP ON ME” on February 22nd. The release of “STEP ON ME” follows the August release of Maddie’s debut EP You Might Not Like Her. The project is an impressive first offering from a uniquely gifted artist whose songwriting has already had a powerful impact with her rapidly expanding fanbase. With Zamh’s extraordinary vocal talents and bravely detailed storytelling, the project is a heart-on-sleeve exploration of the often-painful experiences that have shaped her with equal parts raw vulnerability and undeniable strength.
In late February that Maddie began her 18-stop, completely sold-out headlining, “You Might Not Like Her” tour, along with the support of singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Corook.
Fast forward to April and it’s the last stop tour, in Maddie’s now hometown of Los Angeles and at the legendary venue, The Troubadour. Fans had lined up earlier in the day in anticipation of the closing show of tour where they connected, cried, and sang along with Maddie to her beautifully vulnerable, emotional, poetic, and heartfelt lyrics.
