Maro performing at The Echo
On Tuesday night, Portuguese singer/songwriter Mariana Brito da Cruz Forjaz Secca, professionally known as Maro, closes out her North American tour to a packed house crowd at The Echo in Los Angeles.
At a young age, Secca had initially planned on becoming a veterinarian, but at the age of 19, Maro decided to pursue a musical career. She studied at Berklee College of Music and, shortly after graduation, moved to Los Angeles, where she recorded six self-written albums. Through her social media presence, is where Maro caught the attention of four-time Grammy winner Jacob Collier. He then invited Maro to accompany his debut touring band, which then eventually led Maro to win the Festival da Canção , 2022, and represent Portugal in the finals for Eurovision 2022 with the song “Saudade, Saudade.”
Making quite a name for herself globally, Maro recently unveiled her latest album entitled “Can you see me?” on August 26th, which is a blend of Pop, Indie, R&B EDM, and where she showcases her songwriting abilities and absolutely lovely vocals.
