Today, sadie returns with her new single “Arms Wide” accompanied by a music video directed by Sharleen Chidiac.
sadie on ‘Arms Wide” – “This song is about confronting other people’s apathy, and my own. It’s about caring too much, and not enough. It’s also about loosening a grip on tightly held ideas and beliefs––noticing the things we cling to, and the sense of freedom that can be found in letting them go.”
Departing from “perfectly deconstructed dance-floor fare” (FADER), sadie’s production on her first track back since her critically acclaimed EPs ‘Nowhere’ and ‘Tides’, layers confessional autotune earworms over lush strings and guitars, breakbeats, and warped/glitchy samples.
Her music has been praised by The New York Times, Stereogum, Fader, Pigeons & Planes, Gorilla vs. Bear, Nylon and more. After playing shows with Kelela, The Dare (at his first ever NYC show), Avalon Emerson and Fcukers at Knockdown Center, Harmony Tividad (of girlpool) at Baby’s All Right, sadie took a hiatus from performing live to write more music. Now she is back, stay tuned for more.
