Sedona Debuts Her New Album “Getting Into Heaven” + New Single “Knock On Wood”

The magnetic Chatsworth, CA singer/songwriter, Sedona, returns today with her arresting debut album, Getting Into Heaven. Radiating a quiet strength and weaving together themes of love, sex, and self-actualization, Getting Into Heaven is an album that explores the complexities of girlhood, womanhood, and beyond.

Echoing the spirit of female leads like Stevie Nicks, Liz Phair, and Miley Cyrus, Sedona stitches together intimate, vulnerable, and bold confidence across the album’s 11 tracks. It’s pop rock that leans slightly more country at times, fusing genres that have influenced her to arrive at this sunlit, dew-dropped, and ethereal patchwork quilt of self-named genre: a refreshing blend of Velvet Americana, Mirage Pop, and Pageant Rock.

The album’s sonic identity is as free-flowing as Sedona…a self-assured, open channel, dedicated to making beautifully-crafted, timeless songs for listeners of yesterday, today, and tomorrow to enjoy. Recorded between her hometown of Los Angeles and NYC, where she once called home, Getting Into Heaven is the clearest expression of who Sedona is as an artist. “Sonically, these songs feel the most true to me,” she explains, “they’re warmer and simpler, and have a lot more guitars. They’ve got more room to breathe.”

Today, Sedona also shares the album’s focus track, “Knock on Wood,” and its official music video. The video highlights the beauty of the untamed, and much like the video, “Knock on Wood” captures the album’s feral, homegrown essence – unbound and effortlessly beautiful. Sedona’s limitless is on full display. On the track, she adds, “‘Knock On Wood’ is one of the harder songs for me to share off the record, a confessional I’ve held onto for years. The whole album feels like I’m spilling secrets I’ve kept inside for years. Feels good to let them roam free.”
