Snail Mail at The Hollywood Palladium
On April 27th, Indie-rock band Snail Mail performed at The historic Hollywood Palladium. The band, fronted by Lindsey Jordan, set out in support of her latest and highly praised album, Valentine, which was actually one of my favorite albums of 2021.
Opening the show for Snail Mail was the Australian Indie-pop trio, The Goon Sax, who was recently nominated by NME, for the Best Australian band.
In 2021 a few days after the release of Valentine, Lindsey made an announcement that her U.S and UK/Eur tour would be postponed due to her struggling with vocal health and requiring surgery. By December Lindsey let fans know recovery was going great and announced the rescheduled tour dates.
The Valentine tour began in early April out in Philadelphia and after 16 stops across the U.S., Snail Mail finally made their long-awaited return to LA.
Jordan bashfully strolled out to the Palladium stage that was adorned with a statue of cupid, an ivy-covered mic, and went straight into the album’s title track Valentine. Following up Lindsey literally danced her way into the next song, Ben Franklin. After a few more songs from Valentine and notable ones from the album, Lush, Lindsey asked the crowd before starting the song Madonna “Where my exes at?”.
Near the end, the band walked off the stage leaving Lindsey alone for a solo acoustic performance of the track Light Blue. Once the band returned they played four more songs to end the night but reappeared for an encore of the track Mia and Pristine which had the crowd singing and a few people surrounding me dancing.
Snail Mail has a few more shows left on this tour going on into early May and then they head out for their Eur/UK tour in June. They will be returning back to the states for another set of shows in August and September. Be sure to check out the image below for a list of dates and cities.
